STEF05DPUR is an integrated electronic fuse optimized for monitoring output current and input voltage. Connected in series to a 5V rail, it is capable of protecting the electronic circuitry on its output from overcurrent and overvoltage. This device has a controlled delay and turn-on time. When an overload condition occurs, this device limits the output current to a predefined safe value. If the anomalous overload condition. persists, it goes into an open state, disconnecting the load from the power supply. If a continuous short-circuit is present on the board, when power is re-applied the E-fuse initially limits the output current to a safe value, and then again goes into an open state. This device is equipped with a thermal protection circuit. It is used in applications such as hard disk drives, solid state drives (SSD), hard disk and SSD arrays, set-top boxes, DVD and Blu-ray disc drivers.
- Continuous current is 3.6A typ at (VCC = 5V, VEN = 3.3V, CI = 10µF, CO = 47µF, TJ = 25°C)
- ON resistance is 40mohm typ at (TJ = 25°C)
- Enable/fault functions, output clamp voltage is 6.65V typ at (VCC = 10V, TJ = 25°C)
- Undervoltage lockout, short-circuit limit
- Overload current limit, controlled output voltage ramp
- Short-circuit current limit is 4.1A typical at (RLimit = 11 ohm, TJ = 25°C)
- Output voltage ramp time is 0.8ms typical at (enable to VOUT=4.7V, No Cdv/dt)
- Bias current is 0.5mA typical at (TJ = 25°C)
- Operating junction temperature range from -40°C to 125°C
- Shutdown temperature is 165°C typical, DFN10 package
