MCP3422A0-E/MS is a 2-channel 18bit, multi-channel ΔΣ analogue-to-digital converter with I²C™ interface and on-board reference. This device can convert analogue inputs to digital codes with up to 18bits of resolution. During each conversion, the device calibrates offset and gain errors automatically. This provides accurate conversion results from conversion to conversion over variations in temperature and power supply fluctuation. The user can select the PGA gain of x1, x2, x4, or x8 before the analogue-to-digital conversion takes place. This allows the device to convert a very weak input signal with high resolution. Typical applications include portable instrumentation and consumer goods, temperature sensing with RTD, thermistor, and thermocouple, bridge sensing for pressure, strain, and force, weigh scales, battery fuel gauges, factory automation equipment.

- Self calibration of internal offset and gain per each conversion
- Gain error drift is 15ppm/°C typ (PGA=1, DR=3.75 SPS, TA = -40°C to +85°C)
- PGA gain error match is 0.1% typ (Between any 2 PGA settings, TA = -40°C to +85°C)
- Integral non-linearity is 10ppm of FSR typ (DR = 3.75 SPS, FSR = Full, TA = -40°C to +85°C)
- Data rate is 5.1SPS typ (18 bits mode, TA = -40°C to +85°C)
- Supply current during conversion is 145µA typ (VDD = 5.0V, TA = -40°C to +85°C)
- Voltage range from 2.7 to 5.5V (TA = -40°C to +85°C)
- Power supply rejection at DC input is 100dB typ (TA = +25°C, VDD = 2.7V to 5.5V, PGA = 1)
- 8 pin MSOP package, extended operating temperature range from -40°C to 125°C
