MAX14931FASE+ is a 4-channel digital isolator. It offers all three possible unidirectional channel configurations to accommodate any 4-channel design including SPI, RS-232, RS-485, and digital I/O applications. Independent 1.71V to 5.5V supplies on each side of the isolator also make the device suitable for use as a level translators. Applications include fieldbus communications for industrial automation, isolated SPI, RS-232, RS-485/RS-422, general multichannel isolation applications, battery management, and medical systems. Safety regulatory approvals include UL according to UL1577, cUL according to CSA bulletin 5A, VDE 0884-11 basic insulation.
- Robust galvanic isolation of digital signals
- 3 channel direction configuration, 2 output default states (high or low)
- Supply current is 3.4mA typ at VDDA=5V, 500kHz square wave, TA=+25°C
- Input leakage current is +1µA max at VINA=0 or VDDA, VINB=0 or VDDB
- Common-mode transient immunity is 25kV/µs typ at IN=GND or VDD
- Minimum pulse width is 6.67ns max at INA to OUTB, INB to OUTB
- Propagation delay is 5.1ns typ at 4.5V ≤ VDDA, VDDB ≤ 5.5V, INA to OUTB, INB to OUTA, CL=15pF
- Pulse-width distortion is 0.2ns typ at 4.5V ≤ VDDA, VDDB ≤ 5.5V
- 3/1 channel configuration, 150Mbps data rate, default low output, 2.75kVRMS isolation voltage
- 16 narrow SOIC package, -40°C to +125°C temperature range
